Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones

Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones is an Indianapolis-based band with eclectic roots in pop R&B, jazz, and electronica.

The Slicktones: Mina Keohane on keys, Poncho Hedrick on bass, Matthew Dupree on drums, Joshua Ginder on guitar. Rob Dixon is a featured artist on sax.

They’ve played Rockwood Music Hall, The Jazz Kitchen, Art and Soul at the Artsgarden, Swish Indy, Arts for Lawrence, the Indianapolis Propylaeum.

Teresa’s inspirations come from true stories of being "Stood Up”, manifestation in “Violet,” to her deep love of candy and innuendo in “Candy Gram.”

Teresa lived in NYC for more than fourteen years where she traveled the world singing backup for Gloria Gaynor of “I Will Survive” fame.

She also sang in Central Park with "That Guitar Man" David Ippolito, whose support and generosity helped Teresa grow as a singer and artist.

Teresa wrote and released two solo albums during her time in NYC, Aflame and State of Mind, both available for purchase, and on streaming platforms.

In 2018, Teresa moved back to Indianapolis to join the thriving local arts community, and in 2021 formed Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones.

About Me

The Beginning

The Beginning

I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, where a deep love for singing, acting, and all things creative blossomed. I started studying theatre in junior high, and then attended a theatre intensive program at Broad Ripple High School. After earning a degree in acting from Ball State University, I moved to New York City. Up to this point, singing was something I loved to do, but my career's focus had been on the stage.

The Beginning

After moving to NYC, I joined the creative arts scene and my singing career took center stage.

I sang backup for Gloria Gaynor of "I Will Survive" fame, sang with "That Guitar Man" David Ippolito in Central Park, and wrote and released two solo studio albums. Additionally, I put my acting degree to use Off-Broadway, producing and performing independent theatre, and in an all-female sketch group.

Back in the Nap

After more than 14 years in New York, I moved back to Indianapolis, or Naptown, with my husband and dog to join the thriving local arts scene. I've since had a daughter, adopted another dog, created a band, Teresa Reynolds and the Slicktones, and started my own business, Teresa Reynolds Arts & Events. I'm excited to create a platform for other artists and creatives in the city, and to play with my band both locally and regionally.
